A Fresh Start, Designed Without Compromise
After years of putting her own wants on hold, this home became a turning point. Recently divorced and ready for change, she had been dreaming of redoing her space for a long time — but never had the freedom to fully make it her own. This project was about more than a remodel. It was about confidence, self-expression, and creating a home that finally reflected her.
The existing space was dark, dated, and cramped — especially the kitchen. Her goal was to open things up, bring in light, and design a kitchen and wet bar that felt functional, confident, and unapologetically personal.
Opening Up the Heart of the Home
The kitchen transformation required creative problem-solving. Structural limitations and a tight footprint meant every decision had to work harder. We removed a wall to open the kitchen, instantly changing how the home functions and feels. Where the space once felt closed off and cramped, it now invites connection.
To bring in more natural light, we added skylights — a move that completely shifted the energy of the home. The kitchen was reworked to improve flow, and a creative pantry solution allowed us to maximize storage without sacrificing openness.
Now, the kitchen island is a true gathering place. With teenagers in the house, the ability to sit together, move easily, and share the space has made everyday life noticeably easier.
Classy, Confident, and a Little Extra
Her design brief was simple: white, gold, and extra — in the best way. We leaned into that with intention. A marble backsplash brings timeless elegance, while gold accents are sprinkled throughout the home, including a statement gold hood that anchors the kitchen with confidence.
Every choice balances refinement with personality. The result is a space that feels elevated and polished, yet playful — a home that doesn’t shy away from making a statement.
A Home That Reflects Who She Is Now
From the teenagers’ bathroom to the pantry and interior paint selections, every detail was designed to reflect her style and support her daily life. This was a design and remodel project with full project management, allowing her to enjoy the process without added stress.
Today, her home feels lighter — both literally and emotionally. Daily routines flow more easily, the spaces feel open and welcoming, and most importantly, she truly loves where she lives.
This project was filled with laughter, bold decisions, and a shared understanding that extra was always the point.
